The Famous Bengal Rose (Rosa chinensis)(foto courtesy Esselte FOCUS).
Purpelred, quite large, wide and the plant is generally short.
This rose was retitled as Rosa chinensis in 1833 after breeding with Noisetterose.
The Rose-Bengal colour is after this rose.

Prophet Muhammad (sm) said:

This page is dedicated to Humayun Kabir ( born 22nd Feb 1906 at Faridpur in Bangladesh - died 18th Aug 1969 in New Delhi, India.), philosopher, writer and anthropologist . He was the first bangali to obtain modern greats( honours in Philosophy, Economics and Political science) from Oxford University in 1931 with the best distinctions. He was elected as the General Secretary of the Oxford Union Society in 1930. His most known literary work in Bangla "Nodi o Nari" caught the attention of Europeans as well. The first English translation appeared with the name " Men and Rivers", in Swedish "Folk vid Floden". Viveca Barthel translated Men and Rivers into Swedish in 1953. Artur Lundqvist one of the most powerful members of the Swedish Academy ( body who confers Nobel Prize every year), met Humayun Kabir in New Delhi in early fifties. Then Huamyun Kabir was the education minister of India. His short story "Prestige " was translated into Swedish by Birgit Hanes in 1962. His another book Rabindranath Tagore ( in English ) was published in the year 1961 to commemorate Tagore centenary is still regarded as complete reference book on Rabindranath Tagore authored by a Bangali muslim. He edited from Calcutta a literary and cultural little magazine called "Chaturanga". His other popular and widely read anthologies of poetries are Swapnasadh, Sathi and Astadashi .
